When Schelde Sports, a JF-International company, asked us to transform their 'SAM 225 Club' basketball goal into something fit for the FIBA 3X3 World Tour, we jumped at the chance to show them our skills on the court. In just a few short weeks we weaved through mood-boards, made a fast break for a solid concept and with an assist from our technical detailing we slam dunked the final product! After opening the competition in Tokyo (June 2013) this sculpture of Basketball power will go on tour around the globe all the way to the finals in Miami.

3X3 (three on three) basketball is the official refereed version of the kind of street ball played the world over. With more than 250 million players worldwide, it is one of the most popular sports and will most likely become an Olympic discipline when the Olympics come to Rio De Janeiro.

The innocent looking SAM 225 Club, a staple in the gymnasium world, had to be trained into its new tougher looks. It had to have enough muscle to stand up against all weather conditions, be safe and secure, and still be able to deliver the messages of the sponsors.

Together with padding specialists Coolen, from Eindhoven, and thanks to JF-International's expertise and know how our design was detailed to perfection and quickly realized with a full-scale prototype. As a result of that FIBA chose Schelde Sports as their official partner for the FIBA 3X3 World Tour and all FIBA 3X3 World championships.

Achilles, Schelde Sports, JF-International and Coolen: an unbeatable team!
